
For years, the famous working horses of Brabant (‘Brabants Trekpaard’) have ploughed the fields surrounding our family farm. What’s in a name? Our stud name ‘Van de Vijfboenders’ has been derived from the Flemish notion ‘bounder’, meaning ‘1 hectare’ (= 2,47 acres). If you put 5 of these together, you get the original dimensions and name of our stud: a five bounder.
